20 years of Kat Creative
It was on 1 February 2001 that I set up as a self-employed copywriter, trading under the brand Kat Creative.
Over the past two decades I’m glad to have helped a wide range of organisations engage better with their target audiences, especially ones that share my passion for making a positive difference.
Thank you to everyone who has chosen to work with me over the years!
to celebrate, I've donated £20 to
Trees for Reading, the local urban tree planting scheme I'm involved with, to help make our town greener, healthier and happier.
Managing Britain’s Best Food Market
In January 2020 I was thrilled to discover that Reading Farmers’ Market, which I have been
managing since July 2017>, had been named Best Food Market in the Great British Market Awards>.
The judges praised the way it reflects Reading’s cultural diversity and engages with local creatives – both aspects I’ve worked hard to bring in.
Managing a market has been a new challenge for me, but uses a lot of the skills I’ve developed throughout my career and has helped me hone new ones. It’s an amazing feeling to be an integral part of such a hub of the local community, helping people access excellent local produce, direct from the producers.
You can read about the award in Get Reading> and The Reading Chronicle>.
Celebrating 19 years in business
On 1 February 2020 I celebrated 19 years since setting up Kat Creative.
I’m proud to still be a microbusiness after all these years and still staying true to my aim of supporting organisations that work to make a positive impact. I’ve recently produced web copy for organisations that:
- provide banking facilities for charities and social enterprises
- support the rights of people on zero hours contracts
- inspire and support women thinking of starting their own businesses
- and recognise the contribution of black British entrepreneurs.
Thanks to everyone who’s supported me over the years!
Contributing to the Yell Business blog
Towards the end of 2014, Hibu contacted me inviting me to contribute to their Yell Business blog, as an expert on web content. I was delighted to get involved.
.
Since 2008, I’ve been working with web consultant Edward Bowen to produce email newsletters for international business consultants Renoir Consulting. Over the years the newsletter - e-Portrait - has helped Renoir pick up new business worth $5 million.
You can read more about my work for Renoir Group in the case study I’ve recently uploaded:
Brazil is experiencing impressive economic growth at a time when many countries are still struggling their way out of recession.
If you’re considering tapping into the Brazilian market, there has never been a better time. As a fluent Portuguese-speaker with fifteen years of marketing experience and some excellent contacts in Brazil, I can help you achieve it.
