Walking for Children of the Andes
On 2 May 2010 I walked ten miles along the Thames and through Richmond Park (in torrential rain) to raise funds for vulnerable children in Colombia.
COTA (Children of the Andes) works to protect children who are affected by poverty and violence, including street children and those who are forced to work to survive.
Thanks to everyone who sponsored me, helping me to raise an amazing £161.
Investing in Brazil
With preparations underway for hosting the World Cup in 2014 and the Olympics in 2016, Brazil is experiencing impressive economic growth at a time when many countries are struggling.
Brazil's President Lula visited the UK in November 2009 to promote investment opportunities there. During his stay he told the Financial Times how the strategic investment and tax breaks his government had put in place to boost the economy in 2007 had helped Brazil "get into the crisis last and be the first out".
He went on to say, "I think that between 2016 and 2020 at most, Brazil will be the fifth economy of the world". He added, "This is a very glorious moment - almost magical - in Brazilian history".
If you're considering tapping into the Brazilian market, there has never been a better time. As a fluent Portuguese-speaker with ten years of marketing experience and some excellent contacts in Brazil, I can help you achieve it.

Green Drinks @ the Global
It's now been two years since I took on the role of co-ordinator for Reading Green Drinks.
A group of us who care about environmental and ethical issues meet up for relaxed networking at the Global Café from 6.30 to 8.30pm on the first Tuesday of every month.
The Reading meeting is one of hundreds that take place monthly all over the world so, if you’re not based locally, click here to see if there’s a group near you.
